Procedure: Skin Resurfacing

Procedure Detail: This 54 year old female presented for evaluation of sun-damaged skin to the face. Dr. Batniji performed the following:

• Laser skin resurfacing of the entire face to address fine lines/wrinkles and sun-damaged skin. Dr. Batniji used the Sciton laser, which is a fractionated laser. With this system, he performed 3 different laser treatments in one to address not only the fine lines and wrinkles, but also treat pigmentation of the skin. These treatments include: broadband light, microlaser peel, and profractional laser treatments.

Laser skin resurfacing with fractionated lasers can be performed in the office. It can be performed at the same time as other facial surgery, including facelift. For example, this patient underwent the following procedures at the same time as her laser resurfacing:

• Facelift with necklift.
• Endoscopic brow lift.
• Upper blepharoplasty.
• Lower blepharoplasty.
