I would like to know exactly what areas are improved by a cheek lift. The areas I am concerned about are the nasolabial folds, sagging cheeks, the beginning of jowls and marionette lines. Does the cheek lift also improve skin texture?
The cheek may lose volume and descend with time. This results in accentuation of the nasolabial folds and creation of the jowl. As well, a hollowness develops between the lower eyelid and cheek. A cheek lift is designed to restore a more youthful appearance to the cheek. It does not improve skin texture; a better technique for improving skin texture of the cheek is laser resurfacing with a fractionated laser. A cheek lift does not improve the jowls and/or marionette lines as effectively as a facelift. Non-surgical options, such as augmentation with injectable fillers, can improve the appearance of the nasolabial folds and marionette lines.
